Our History

The Malaysian Consumer and Family Economics Association (MACFEA) or Persatuan Ekonomi Pengguna dan Keluarga Malaysia was established as a professional association in the field of consumer and family economics in Malaysia. The association was officially launched on August 13, 1996 by the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, YB. Dato’ Abu Hassan Omar.To date MACFEA has 120 life, 7 ordinary and 14 student members.

MACFEA is organising the 18th MALAYSIAN CONSUMER AND FAMILY ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION NATIONAL SEMINAR (MACFEA) 2014 Event - 18th MACFEA National Seminar Date - 27 and 28th August 2014 (Wednesday and Thursday) Venue - Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya, Malaysia. To promote the advancement of professionals working in the area of Consumer and family Economics. To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge for those interested in promoting the economics well-being of consumers, families and business community. To encourage pertaining to Consumer and Family Economics and disseminate information arising from the research. To carry out the objectives of the Association either alone or in affiliation with other societies with other societies, associations, or groups having similar aims or objectives, locally and internationally.
